This report is the latest in a series published jointly by the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) and the WHO Regional Office for Europe that has been reporting data on HIV and AIDS in the WHO European Region and in the European Union and European Economic Area (EU/EEA) since 2007. It finds that while epidemic patterns and trends vary widely across European countries, nearly 107 000 people were diagnosed with HIV in the European Region in 2022, including around 17 000 in the EU/EEA.
Report <picture> </picture> ECDC, WHO
Is the material copyright protected?
Yes
Website
https://www.ecdc.europa.eu/en/publications-data/hiv-aids-joint-report-surveillance-2021-data
(Undocumented) Migrants

Gay men and other MSM

Heterosexuals

Injecting drug users (IDUs)

LGBTI

Men having sex with men (MSM)

People living with HIV (PLHIV)

Sex workers

Women

WHO European region

Co-infections

Epidemiology

Gender

Prevention

Sexual and reproductive health
Fri, 23 Dec 2022 11:32:17 +0000 shabnam.abdullayeva_2293 4613 at http://aidsactioneurope.org Increase in severe acute hepatitis cases of unknown aetiology in children http://aidsactioneurope.org/en/publication/increase-severe-acute-hepatitis-cases-unknown-aetiology-children Increase in severe acute hepatitis cases of unknown aetiology in children shabnam.abdullayeva_2293 Wed, 07/27/2022 - 12:40 <drupal-render-placeholder callback="flag.link_builder:build" arguments="0=node&1=4559&2=follow_content" token="-DSxbMm8cFtIMkm-hMgIp6fFUs9TNYW3LKQUvg__1Vw"></drupal-render-placeholder>
As of 20 April 2022, 111 cases had been reported from the UK, and as of 27 April 2022 approximately 55 probable and confirmed cases have been reported from 12 EU/EEA countries. The clinical picture is of severe acute hepatitis requiring hospitalisation with jaundice and markedly elevated liver transaminases. In most cases to date, the onset of jaundice was preceded by a gastrointestinal illness with vomiting, diarrhoea, and nausea. Information on the outcome of the cases is still being collected.
