The article discusses vulnerability to HIV among groups displaced by armed conflict. It is argued that a human rights framework provides a useful basis for understanding and addressing this vulnerability. For instance, such a framework can inform crucial confidentiality around testing. It can also inform discussions in refugee communities to address (upset) gender roles and relations.

A review of the literature suggests that multifaceted and sustained approaches are needed to improve the sexual health of ethnic minority communities. Chief among these approaches are improving STI surveillance and research tools; creating collaborative partnerships with communities; targeting high-risk groups and networks; and improving access to proven effective interventions.

This report describes a project to identify the needs of and to develop responses for ethnic minority women living with HIV in Ireland. This paper examines the variables used to monitor HIV/AIDS in migrants and ethnic minorities in surveillance systems in Western Europe. Risk behavior and social-cognitive determinants of condom use among ethnic minority communities in Amsterdam
This study assessed sexual risk behaviour and determinants of condom use among migrants in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Data were collected from a community sample of Surinamese, Antillean and sub-Saharan African heterosexual men and women. Perceived behavioural control and subjective norms regarding condom use were main social-cognitive determinants of consistent condom use.

Are we meeting the psychological needs of black African HIV-positive individuals in London? Controlled study of referrals to a psychological medicine unit
This study shows that HIV-infected black Africans in London are less likely to be referred to mental health services.
