2010: The 5th Balkans Conference on HIV and AIDS - “A decade of responding to HIV in the Western Balkans region: What have we learned and where are we going?”

This annual regional conference has been an integral component of the Western Balkans HIV and AIDS Programme – Building Regional HIV Resilience and is the last one to be organized by the Programme. It is an opportunity for all partners to reflect on the joint achievements in the responses to HIV in the region as well as to further strengthen regional collaboration to meet the challenge of the coming decade. Reflect on progress made to responding to HIV during the past decade and look forward to the next decade of increased regional exchange, networking, and collaboration to strengthen regional resilience against HIV. The Conference is a partnership with vulnerable groups, governments, civil societies, United Nations Joint AIDS Programme family, the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, TB and Malaria, and academic institutions.
