The BORDERNETwork project and the Romanian Association against AIDS (ARAS) are jointly organising this 3-day Training Seminar in the method POL (Popular Opinion Leader) for Participatory Community-based HIV/STI Prevention for ethnic minorities (Roma) and migrant groups.

 

What is POL?

POL is an HIV Prevention Model to identify and train natural popular and well-liked community peers to function as AIDS educators and endorses to their own social circles. It has been developed by CAIR (Center for AIDS Intervention Research), and Medical College of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, USA.

 

For who is this training?

The training, provided by a trainer of the Bulgarian Foundation HESED, is meant for professionals in the field of HIV/AIDS prevention, including:

  • community based workers
  • cultural mediators
  • community health and social assistants
  • peer leaders
  • educators from ethnic and migrant communities
