As the number of people living with HIV/AIDS continues to grow, the pandemic has affected many sectors of society, reaching well beyond its direct human toll. The Kaiser Family Foundation has prepared this primer which summarizes key research assessing impacts in many of the worst affected countries, including effects on population structure and demographics, individuals and households, the public and private sectors, health, education, agriculture and food security, and the economy.
