With 33 million people living with HIV and 2.7 million new infections in 2007, the HIV epidemic continues to be a major challenge for global health. This report provides a global update on progress in scaling up priority health sector interventions for HIV prevention, treatment and care in 2008 towards the internationally endorsed goal of universal access.
